Start by lifting the wallpaper off at a corner and then stripping the panel off completely. The bond should be tight and will require pulling with force but the panel will release. The wallpaper will come off as large pieces or full panels if the wall has been properly primed beforehand. A primed wall (with the recommended primer) prior to installation will ensure protection of the wall and gyprock. Some sections of paint and/or gyprock may come off the wall when removing the wallpaper, this may happen for the following known reasons: small sections of the wall were accidentally missed with the primer, you did not complete two wall coats of primer or use enough primer for each coat. After removing the wallpaper the wall will need sanding due to the glue used to adhere the wallpaper to the wall.
If you are having complications removing the wallpaper you may need to hire a professional grade wallpaper steamer.
